Dr. Luke Miller, Assistant Professor
Luke Miller is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at Fort Lewis College and Co-Director, Office of Economic Analysis and Business Research. After attending the University of Virginia for his undergraduate degree in Systems Engineering, he served as an instructor and program manager in the U.S. Air Force. Completing his master’s and Ph.D. in Financial Engineering from Auburn University, Dr. Miller served as a faculty member in the School of Business Administration at the University of San Diego where he taught quantitative and financial economic courses. His consulting, teaching, and research interests span all areas of business valuation including, but not limited to: financial planning, capital budgeting, replacement analysis, capital rationing, security analysis, and risk management. Dr. Miller also serves as an adjunct research professor for the Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama.

Dr. Tino Sonora, Assistant Professor
Robert “Tino” Sonora received his BA in Economics from Connecticut College. After attending the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver and working in Washington, D.C. for Colorado Senator Tim Wirth, he moved to England where he received an MA in International Economics from the University of Essex in Colchester. Returning to the United States, he attended The Ohio State University where he earned an MA and Ph.D. in Economics, specializing in intra-national macroeconomics. Dr. Sonora taught one year at Ohio Wesleyan University and was an Assistant Professor of Economics for seven years at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Economics and Co-Director of the Office of Economic Analysis and Business Research at Fort Lewis College, nearer to his childhood homes of Taos, NM, and Denver, CO.

Dr. Deborah Walker, Associate Professor
Deborah Walker is an Associate Professor of Economics in the School of the Business Administration at Fort Lewis College and Co-Director, Office of Economic Analysis and Business Research. After attending Arizona State University for her undergraduate degree in economics and a master’s in Business Administration, she received her master’s of arts and Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University. She spent most of her academic career teaching at Loyola University New Orleans; with a brief stint in Washington, D.C. as a public policy analyst. Wanting to return to the mountains of Southwest Colorado (having been born and mostly raised in Cortez), she enthusiastically accepted a position at Fort Lewis College in the fall of 2002. Her main interests are in the areas of political economy, industrial organization, the economics of women’s issues, Austrian economics, and applied microeconomics. The Office of Economic Analysis and Business Research publishes the online Four Corners Economic Quarterly (formerly known as the Econometer) and conducts economic impact and analysis studies.
