Are you considering majoring in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance? Take this route, and you'll be able to reason, evaluate, interpret and apply information in order to solve complex problems by the time you graduate.

Our finance degree provides opportunities in the financial services, financial planning and real estate industries. Become part of our student-faculty learning teams, and prepare for areas such as Certified Financial Planning, Real Estate Appraisal, Real Estate Sales and other areas such as mortgage lending and commercial banking.

Fort Lewis is an alternative to the big university, offering attentive hands-on teaching. You'll work in the field, connect with the community on research projects and even study abroad. Because we focus purely on undergraduate business majors, you'll interact with faculty, and not graduate students.

The Business Administration major with a finance option focuses on those financial activities that affect business, government and non-profit organizations. Students will be introduced to financial planning and management as they pertain to organizations, to the function of both capital and money markets, and to fund raising in these markets.

Financial theory and practice have changed rapidly in the past 20 years and will probably continue to change at least as rapidly in the immediate future. Therefore, students will be introduced to the rapidly evolving theory of finance so that they will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of a firm's financing decisions and investments. Students also will become familiar with the analytical techniques that can be used to seek solutions to a wide range of financial problems.
