Don't forget your passport when coming to Fort Lewis College. We'll show you the world - and not just tell you about it.

Students study abroad, especially those who focus on International Business for their Business Administration degree. You'll have at least one, and many have more than one, opportunity to immerse yourself globally and explore the world.

Consider France. Students spend a semester in La Rochelle, France, taking regular business classes in English from our business professors. While attending, many students travel widely, taking in as many as 15 European countries during the semester.

We also offer several Innovative Months each summer in Costa Rica, Peru, China, Africa and Ireland. The Innovative Months program offers focused and in-depth study, usually six-credit hours that apply to the graduation requirements for the International Business option.

Besides the global experience, we also require a foreign language proficiency. We'll work with you one-on-one to learn at least one foreign language. You'll also know the culture and political issues of the regions you are studying.

These experiences and our curriculum will prepare you to function in an increasingly global business environment. Just as our mission states, "The School of Business Administration works as a team to create student focused learning experiences that prepare graduates for a dynamic global environment."

The Business Administration major with the international business option has been designed to prepare students to enter the exciting and rapidly growing world of international business. Increasingly businesses find that suppliers and customers may come from anywhere in the world. To better prepare students for a future career in business that will likely require some international proficiency, students in this option take courses to gain competency in at least one foreign language, a cultural and political understanding of the region of the world where that language is dominant, and those special business skills needed to operate effectively in the international environment.

The option is strongly interdisciplinary.
