In the Tourism and Resort Management course, students are split into groups and given an assignment to produce a complete itinerary and description of a trip of their choosing. This trip must fit the demographics and psychographics of those that would be invited. All projects are then judged by industry members from the community. The winner helps design and produce a banquet at the end of the semester. And the winners are . . .

Queenstown

Queenstown, New Zealand
Our project entails organizing a 7 day trip to Queenstown, New Zealand for a group of 30 people in the months of July and August. The group members for which this trip is designed range in age from 24 to 42 years old with an annual income from $32,000 to $120,000. Queenstown offers a wide variety of mild to allocentric outdoor activites. We designed our layout as two parts. The first gives a general description of Queenstown, New Zealand and presents the details of the trip. The second portion outlines a detailed promotional banquet which is designed to introduce the trip to our guests while explaining the components and preparation.

Switzerland

Switzerland
Our project consists of organizing a one week trip to Switzerland and more precisely, the region of Nendaz, for 20 people between October and November. Our clients range in age from 24 to 42 and have an annual income of $32,00 to $120,00. This region allows many mildly allocentric outdoor activities as you will discover.

Climatic issues might occur during the fall (rain). However, this region provides many cultural alternatives like museums, cheese and wine factories and gastronomy in general which are inherited from the rich history of Nendaz.

We divided our project into two parts. The first part gives a general description of Switzerland and Nendaz and presents the prjects in its details (transportation, accommodations, food and beverage, activities and entertainment. etc) The second part presents a promotional banquet introducing Switzerland to our guests and explains every component of the event and its preparation.

The realization of this project was possible because of the help of our teacher, Mr. Terry Tannehill, Chef Jack Keys form the DoubleTree Hotel, Mama's Boy Italian Ristorante and the Nendaz Office of Tourism.
